Mosquito Me Not has partnered with an Atlanta based helicopter operation that has national presence to provide our customers with additional options.  We can provide support for national, state, and county mosquito control contracts.

We can also offer services to cities and large neighborhoods.  This can be a very cost effective option for areas that already have some residential level spraying . Applying from the air lets us treat areas not easily reachable from the ground, such as wooded areas and even gutters on homes. This improves overall mosquito abatement.  A 2012 CDC study in Dallas showed that aerial application was 2.6 times more effective than ground based fogging trucks, even though the truck based application had been doubled.   With the application of our all natural larvicides, we remove the risk to people, pets, plants, or beneficial insects.  When warranted, aerial insecticides are also available.

Our service area includes all of Georgia; we can also extend into neighboring Southeastern states.

For a long time aerial methods have been employed to control mosquitoes.  Aerial application is a great way to cover large areas quickly and reach locations otherwise difficult by ground.

Three main activities are conducted from the air:

  • Surveillance
  • Larviciding
  • Adulticiding

  • Surveillance: Helicopters provide entomologist, epidemiologist, and researches quick access to remote areas to detailed assessments of activity and disease levels. If you have needs for this type of assistance our aerial partner can be setup for one-time projects or routine needs.
  • Larviciding: Many types of larvicides can be applied from air. Our primary choice is the all natural Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti). This is very effective against Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. We usually apply this as a low concentration spray, but can use granular methods if needed.  We also have Bacillus sphaericus (Bs).
  • Adulticiding: Using ultralow volume (ULV) techniques has proven to be very effective against adult mosquitoes. In this the method a small amount of diluted insecticide is atomized in to particles in the 5-25 µm size range. These particles drift to earth and making contact with and killing mosquitoes.  Because of the particle size, the physics of the particle movement means that they rarely attach to kill other insects.  Once the particles contact the ground they are neutralized with little residual impact.
